MARIN COUNTY WALKING TOUR
July 17-23 and October 23-29,
2008.
The
Marin trip we have set up to meet popular demand!
This is all about a week of great walks in beautiful Marin County,
reached upon crossing the Golden Gate Bridge.
We
have two fine lodgings for the week. There's the Mill
Valley Inn, with the appealing village just around
the corner, as well as the beckoning paths of Mt Tamalpais and
Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Also of course our own Ten
Inverness Way, adjacent to
Pt Reyes National Seashore with its myriad trails and
treasures of marine and land lifeforms.
Superb
food, along with Marin-based wines (pinots especially) and artisan
cheeses, will be our constant
companions during the week, both at our scenic picnic
spots and at every evening meal in Mill Valley and Pt Reyes
Station. A special treat will be our dinner at tiny Drakes Beach
Cafe, by the beach and bay at full moonrise.
Walks
will be 6-10 miles per day, split by picnics at wonderful locales
like Hearts Desire Beach overlooking
Tomales Bay.
There
will be beach walks and mountain walks, marsh walks and gentle
woodland paths. You will see the tule elk on Tomales Point,
birds galore, seals, and perhaps a whale sighting from Chimney
Rock.
These two trips are sure to sell out so sign up as soon as you
can free up your schedule!
All-inclusive
price, excluding airfare and gratuity (optional), is $1900-person,
based on dbl occupancy, single supplement (for private room,
if avl) is an additional $600.
